Gene expression differences for drought stress response in three cool?season turfgrasses

چکیده
Many efforts in the USA have focused on turfgrass tolerances to drought imposition as means reduce their need for irrigation. As part of this effort, our research groups subjected multiple species and varieties collected transcript expression profiles genes that were differentially expressed under stress control conditions. We generated lists transcripts gene families Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, creeping bentgrass; we compared each species’ set across all three species. The with isoforms annotated characterized. By examining these datasets, found key genetic mechanisms by which respond stress. Specific genes, such ABA responsive LEA homologs, show crucial nature upon Other families, E3 ubiquitin ligases, exhibited different family members highlight species-specific responses drought.

Patterns of mitochondrial gene expression in rapeseed leaves (Brassica napus L.) at early growth stage in response to drought stress
Drought stress adversely affects a plant’s growth and productivity. Wide ranges of molecular disorders could be caused by the production of reactive oxygen radicals. Plant cells have developed potential systems to prevent such damage by scavenging and reducing the reactive oxygen species (ROS). In this study, both the genotypes of oilseed rape-tolerant and sensitive to drought-were exposed to p...
متن کاملDifferential Gene Expression Reveals Candidate Genes for Drought Stress Response in Abies alba (Pinaceae)
Increasing drought periods as a result of global climate change pose a threat to many tree species by possibly outpacing their adaptive capabilities. Revealing the genetic basis of drought stress response is therefore implemental for future conservation strategies and risk assessment. Access to informative genomic regions is however challenging, especially for conifers, partially due to their l...
متن کاملGene networks involved in drought stress response and tolerance.
Plants respond to survive under water-deficit conditions via a series of physiological, cellular, and molecular processes culminating in stress tolerance. Many drought-inducible genes with various functions have been identified by molecular and genomic analyses in Arabidopsis, rice, and other plants, including a number of transcription factors that regulate stress-inducible gene expression. The...
متن کاملCharacterization of a rice gene showing organ-specific expression in response to salt stress and drought.
Protein changes induced by salinity stress were investigated in the roots of the salt-sensitive rice cultivar Taichung native 1. We found eight proteins to be induced and obtained partial sequences of one with a molecular mass of 15 kilodaltons and an isoelectric point of 5.5. Using an oligonucleotide probe based on this information, a cDNA clone, salT, was selected and found to contain an open...
متن کاملEvaluation of gene expression of three adrenergic receptors in infertile women with poor ovarian response, candidate for IVF
Background: Most studies show that 9 to 24% of people who are in in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles are women who respond poorly to ovarian stimulation. Women with poor ovarian response (POR) are a group of infertile patients whose ovarian reserve, ovarian response to medication, and the quality of ovum are declining. Therefore, the number of female cycles, the number of fetuses from the oocyt...
